I see that Free Dining will be available in September for Disney Visa Card holders .My husband and I will be staying at Saratoga Springs using a friends Disney Vacation Club October 9 – 16. We plan on getting 7 day PARK HOPPER pass using our Disney Visa credit card.. If Free dining becomes available for October, will we be able to take advantage of this since we are using Disney Vacation Club and not registering directly with the hotel? (We also may add on at the beginning or end of the Wednesday to Wednesday stay an additional 2 days staying at a different Disney hotel)

Tricia – No, you will not qualify. DVC members (or guests) using DVC points to stay on property do not get free dining. You must book a package including tickets, and you pay full price for the room and tickets, then you get dining free. Sorry!

Keith,– Thanks for your quick response. Just wanted to let you know that I recently was told about your site and it is GREAT!!! Thanks for all the Disney news and tips.

Hi! I am a Visa card holder and I have a trip booked from Aug. 25-29. That’s one week before the Sept. 2 date for free dining. I have been trying all day to get them to give me the offer, but they won’t budge. Any suggestions? Also, I am not able to change my dates for multiple reasons.

Jodi – You can try for the rest of your life, it isn’t going to happen. Disney discounts have very fixed dates, and usually for a good reason. They discount certain dates to drive additional bookings, and if you are outside the dates, it doesn’t matter who you are or what you try, they do not make exceptions.

Unfortunately, you are just going to have to book the other discount and move forward.

Thank you for your quick reply. That’s very disappointing though. 🙁 I did check into the other discount they announced today and it would save me $20.00. Literally. For some reason there’s a couple of resorts that only offer a 5% discount and of course the one I booked is one of those.

Jodi – You could always look at changing resorts 😉

            I’ll check into that. Thanks.

I’ve been reading reports online that state that AoA Suites are available with free dining. From what I’ve read Lion King and Cars suites are available with free dining, but Nemo Suites are excluded. Can you confirm this?

    1. Keith Avatar
      Keith

Alicia – All three are technically available, the Nemo rooms are not excluded. However, the Nemo rooms are by far the most popular, so for many dates, we have seen them not available/sold out. I have seen them for some dates though, so definitely not excluded.

The text where you list the offer details states:
It appears that all suites, campsites and 3 bedroom villas have been excluded from this offer, including family suites at All-Star Music and the new Art of Animation Resort.

Alicia – Wow, totally my fault. I was typing that at 4:55 AM this morning, so to save time I based it off last year’s discount, and didn’t even notice. I have fixed the information above. Thanks!

I know you would be guessing but slim odds for free dining in Oct/Nov? I was going to buy my park tickets before the May/June price increase, but may now hold off just in case there is free dining in Oct/Nov.

Mike – Yes. I went on record last year and said I didn’t think we would see Fall free dining for 2012, and was 100% wrong. I am saying the same thing this year, but again, there is a possibility I could be wrong.

Either way, it is very likely we will see some sort of package discount that will require a park pass purchase in order to qualify, so I would probably hold off too.

I have already booked a resort 2 bedroom villa for October. Can I still qualify for the free dining!

    1. Keith Avatar
      Keith

Dianne – This discount is only for the travel dates listed above during September, we have yet to see any October discounts at all, and probably won’t for a few more months.

Hi. Based on your experience. If they haven’t offered free dining for August, is there still another potential date they could announce, or was May 9th the last promotion for summer?

    Thanks

    1. Keith Avatar
      Keith

Aaron – Nope, free dining has left August and not coming back (at least for 2013). The room/package discount that will be released tomorrow along with free dining will be all we will see, next up will be Fall dates sometime later this Summer.

        Aaron

Thanks Kieth. Is it possible that individuals still might get “pins” in the mail that could offer free dining with different dates? Like late August? Or is that wishful thinking?

        1. Keith Avatar
          Keith

Aaron – Yep, Disney releases new PIN codes late this afternoon and included some late August dates, as well as dates through November for free dining.

Any idea why Disney didn’t include the first two weeks of October on the pin codes? Do you think there’s any chance of Free Dining during that time?

    1. Keith Avatar
      Keith

Lesli – Historically, Disney releases a September discount, and then an October – December discount later in the year, usually in July/August. Probably unlikely we will see free dining released to the public, but Disney has been sending out PIN codes for Fall free dining, so watch your email.

Hi, We are looking to book late October for Disney staying at the French Quarters. We are Disney Credit Card holders and are hoping to get the free dining. I want to book the vacation now but am unsure because the free dining past September has not been released.
Do you think I should book the full package now or wait until they release the dates for October.

    1. Keith Avatar
      Keith

Sheila – Book now, you can always add a discount to an existing reservation, as long as they make availability at your resort with the discount. Having the reservation doesn’t really help with availability, but you can go ahead and start planning, etc.

Hi in your note above you mentioned that on May 9th Disney would be releasing some pin codes that might include dining for late Aug. I am a Premier Visa card holder do you think I might receive that code? if not then to who would the codes go?

    Thanks,

    1. Keith Avatar
      Keith

Gary – There is no mention of a PIN code or late August above. Initially, this deal was released to Disney VISA cardholders only. On May 9th, it was extended to everyone, the Disney VISA requirement was removed. The deal did not change.

There is another post on MouseMisers about a PIN code that is out for Fall dates, including some late August dates. It has nothing at all to do with Disney VISA cards.

Read that post, it will give you some hints on how to get on the list to get PIN codes.
