  • Caribbean Beach, Coronado Springs and Disney’s Fort Wilderness cabins: 25% off
  • Beach Club, Yacht Club, Boardwalk Inn, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Saratoga Springs and Old Key West: 30% off
Sample Nightly Rates:

  • Saratoga Springs, 2 bedroom villa: $416.50

These rates are per night, and do not include the 12.5% resort tax. Weekend nights may be more expensive. Rates cover several seasons, so the rates may be higher for your travel dates than what is listed above.

Please note that some resorts have been excluded from the discounts, or are discounted a very small percentage (5%). Those resorts include Pop Century, Art of Animation, Port Orleans French Quarter, Wilderness Lodge, Bay Lake Tower, Beach Club Villas, Animal Kingdom Villas and the Villas at Wilderness Lodge.

This offer must be booked by August 14, 2012. Not all nights or resorts may be available. Guests can book either a room only reservation or a package reservation including tickets and dining plans, though only the room portion will be discounted, tickets and dining plan will be at full rate. Availability is limited.

Please note that during many of these travel dates, Disney World is also offering the free Disney Dining discount, which should be better for most stays.

Am I correct to assume, that you can’t have free dining and the room deal? We already have booked the poly..wondering if it is cheaper with free dining or room….

Brenda – Correct, it is either one or the other, never both. It is worth calling if you are at a deluxe resort to check, if you are staying at a value or moderate, it is very likely free dining is going to be better.

I received an email from Disney Destinations that had the dates of October 1-4, and October 8-31. Is this for the same discount??

Kevin – Likely what you received was a PIN code (a personal code just for you). Can you forward it to me so I can take a look at it? keith at mousemisers dot com.

I noticed that Poly’s room discounts for 2012 haven’t been as high as the other deluxe resorts or as high as they used to be in 2011 (30%). Has the resort undergone renovations or refurbishments to justify the higher expense?

WC – Yes, I have noticed the same thing. Disney does release discount based on need, so obviously they feel that the Polynesian will fill up without deeper discounts.

Kevin – That RTP code in the mailer is a ruse, it is a full rate deal, they just want to you think you are getting a discount. If you price out that deal, and a regular October deal where there aren’t discount available yet, you get exactly the same price, down to the penny.

Kevin – Well, to be fair, no where in those emails do they say “discount” or “special price” or anything similar. A bit of research tells you that they are just advertising full price packages.

    Hi Keith,
Have you ever heard of an “invitational upgrade”? I read on a blog recently that someone was upgraded from a moderate ($175) to the Poly for $25 extra a night. She said she asked the Disney Travel agent if there were any upgrades available and this is what she got. She didn’t say what time of the year it was but I’m assuming low season. Thanks! Louisa 🙂

Louisa – Yes, I have. It is rare, very rare, and it is typically if you are booking a moderate or deluxe hotel, and Disney has decided that they need to push people over to other resorts. It is usually for Saratoga Springs or Old Key West, I have never heard of them going to the Polynesian or other monorail resort.

It is always worth asking, but don’t expect anything, it really almost never happens.

Mike – No idea, but if I had a guess, yes, probably late this summer.

Mary – What are your travel dates? Typically club level rooms are included in these discounts, my guess is that your room type is just sold out. If it is sold out, you may have to hope for a cancellation, but I would strongly suggest looking at a different room type or resort this time around.

So Keith, what would you think the chances are that Disney releases any additional discounts for this timeframe? We were hoping to stay at the Wilderness Lodge, but I doubt we’ll be able to with this discount plan.

Pat – Unlikely. It is probably we will see Annual Passholder and Florida Resident discounts for these dates, but probably not any further general public ones.

Karen – Nope, no one knows, and no one will know until the discount is actually released. I am not expecting Fall deals to come out for at least another couple of months. Last year, free dining was extended on August 3, I am hoping for something a bit earlier this year.

Julia – Disney offers discounts on dates and hotels they feel need a bit of help in booking up Apparently, they have not felt that the Wilderness Lodge has needed much help this year. I doubt that will change much in the near future, especially around the Holidays, the Wilderness Lodge is super popular that time of year because of the decorations. Just look at your options once discounts come out, you may save quite a bit to move over to the Animal Kingdom Lodge or even to a nicer resort such as the Beach Club.

Karen – So would I. There isn’t a way to sign up, or request one, they have to target you as someone who may be traveling during the dates, but needs a bit of help. Some people say to plan and save a trip on the wdw website. Other say to request a free DVD. I have no idea how Disney does it, I have never received one.

For the current PIN, your dates are excluded, it runs through October 4, after that it is blacked out for a few weeks.

I’m also planning to be at DW Sept. 16 – 23rd.
and Dec. 27th 2013 for 5 nights at DW and 5 night Disney cruise
How can I obtain a PIN for these dates?
Is there a reason for the blacked out period after oct. 4th?

Karen – You can just get a PIN, Disney must choose you. If you get one, you can use it, if not, you have to use a publicly available deal, if there are any.

The last few years for the Fall, Disney has only included a few days here and there for free dining. This year, same deal, but with a PIN code instead of a public deal. Some dates are already pretty full, so no need to offer discounts, hence the black out dates.

We got a pin code for FD in November! We called in to check because two of our emails were changed. I suggest calling and asking if you have one.

Now, Keith, we want to go to MVMCP on Nov. 27th (tuesday). Do these usually sell out fast, or do we have some time? I don’t want to blow 300 dollars too fast if I don’t have to!

Barb – Congrats! Yes, always worth a call.

Usually, those tickets don’t sell out at all. However, if you are sure you are going, I would go ahead and buy them at some point here, unless you won’t be devastated if they do sell out. Usually, only the Halloween tickets right around Halloween sell out, it is pretty rare that any other dates do.

Vanessa – Late August and September are usually “discount months”, we typically see several each year. We had free dining already, and this room only discount. My guess is we may see one more package deal, but that is just a guess. This may be it. I would book with this deal, you can always switch over if something better comes along.

I have three vacations to book and want to book them as soon as possible! I know it was released around August 3rd last year, but any idea on when it’ll be this year?

Bill – We are expecting something here soon. However, last year, Disney never did release another discount for October, there was free dining for some dates, then they released a room only discount for November and December later on. Hopefully the same thing won’t happen this year.

Gayle – We probably wont’ see 2013 discounts for a few more months. The current free dining for Fall 2012 is available to book through the end of September, and Disney usually doesn’t overlap discounts. At this point, I would expect early October. You can always book now, or have your travel agent do it, and have any future discount applied to your room.
