2014 Disney World Free Dining

Disney Dessert

Travel Dates: August 31 – October 3, October 26 – November 1, November 9 – 20 and December 12 – 23, 2014

UPDATE: Are you a Canadian Resident living in Canada? Well, Disney added some additional dates just for you: August 17 – 31, 2014 has been added to available dates. You must book by September 12, 2014. Please note, for anyone else, the additional dates have not been added, and you still must book by August 8, 2014.

Walt Disney World has announced it’s annual Disney Free Dining! Please note that in order to qualify for the free dining offer, your must check in during one of the available dates above. Your stay can extend into one of the black out periods and you will still receive the free dining for your entire stay. Availability is extremely limited, and not all resorts may be available.

  • Guests staying at a Walt Disney World value resort will receive the Quick Service Dining Plan for free. Guests will be able to upgrade to either the Disney Dining plan or the Deluxe Disney Dining plan by paying the price difference. To upgrade to the Disney Dining Plan, the increased cost will be $19.86 per adult per night of your stay, and $3.41 per child.
  • Guests staying at a Disney World Moderate, Deluxe or Deluxe Disney Villa resort will receive the Disney Dining Plan included for free. Disney World guests at moderate, deluxe and villa resorts will also be able to book the “Free Dining”, and upgrade to the Disney Deluxe Dining for the normal price difference.

Availability is extremely limited, and must be booked by August 8, 2014.

It appears that all suites, campsites and 3 bedroom villas have been excluded from this offer, as are the Little Mermaid rooms at the new Art of Animation Resort, Port Orleans French Quarter, Port Orleans Riverside, All-Star Movies and the new Villas at the Grand Floridian Resort.

Three night minimum stay required, and a maximum stay of 14 nights is allowed per reservation. You must also purchase a minimum 2 day basic park pass per person per reservation to qualify. For more information on the 2014 Disney Dining Plans, what is included and what is not included, we have a great page you can check out: 2014 Disney Dining Plans.

Please note, Walt Disney World has also announced a room only discount for August 16 – October 3 travel dates only. For most people, the free dining will be a better deal, as you cannot combine the two deals. Make sure to check both offers.

I wasn’t planning on going this August, but I am disappointed that the Free Dining doesn’t start until Labor Day weekend and doesn’t include POFQ, my favorite resort! I wonder if Disney is going to offer Free Dining for other dates and resorts by invitation-only. I keep hoping for a Disney postcard with this offer to magically appear in my mailbox.

Jill – Well, the last few years, Disney has pretty much cut out August, which is too bad. Completely possible we may see PIN codes for different dates, Disney has been leaning that way for some time now, so it wouldn’t surprise me to see PIN codes come out at some point soon.

It appears they have listened. Lots of people are getting pin codes for free dining with added dates. aug 25th week is in there. And it includs PO R/FQ. I wasn’t going to go but with the code I can afford the trip. I hope you got one Jill. It’s dated May 9th by email.

Yes, I did get one. No Disney parks for me this year, doing a cruise instead. I hope Disney sends me a free dining pin in 2015. 🙂

Keith – what exactly are PIN codes? How would you know if you have been offered one?
    Thank you

Julie – It is a discount from Disney only for you, no one else can use it. It usually arrives via email or a postcard. There isn’t any known way to get on the list, they just show up. I have been going to Disney several times a year for 20+ years, never gotten one. I have a neighbor that went once like 5 years ago, he gets 5 or more a year.

My family and I got free dining on Aug 25-Sept 1, 2013, and the last full week of August in 2011. Last May, Disney started sending out pins to selected past guests for free dining for the dates I wanted. I got impatient and called Disney to see if I had a free dining pin. I did! A few weeks later I got a postcard. It doesn’t hurt to ask, especially if you hear that others are getting offers.

Jill – True, you can always call and ask. I wouldn’t call today though, you will never get in. The only PIN code that I know about right now is for Summer dates, and it is a room only discount, 30% off.

Last year, Disney sent me an in-depth questionnaire about free dining and other incentives. The survey presented all kinds of scenarios and really drilled down. I kept responding that free dining was key to my family staying at a WDW resort. Free dining is a huge savings. PS I agree that no one looking for a pin should call today. I called at the end of May last year. Good luck to all!

Keith I went on the WDW website to show my husband how to use his My Disney Experience and to my amazement it had Free Dining for select weeks August 17 to December 23. Our arrival was August 16-23 but we changed it to arrive August 17 instead. For the two rooms we needed for our party of 7 saved us over $1500!!!!!!! I just didn’t know if you have seen this yet as I hadn’t received any e-mails from your fabulous site.
    Happy summer

Julie – Do you have a link or screenshot? I check the info daily, and double checked it today. Still says August 31 – December 23, 2014. I have not noticed any change.

Ah ha! I just checked the Canadian website, and it has been changed to August 17, but apparently, only for Canadian residents. Thanks!

How often are early dining rates offered for Canadians, i have booked two past trips during the promotion time period but never thought to look to for specials for Canadians only, we are planning an august 2015 vacation during the last half of august and i am wondering is this is common? I will be sure to be on the lookout this year!

Annette – Typically, the same as for everyone else, usually in the Fall only. Often, Disney will add additional dates to the CA offer, but not always. Check back here or on disneyworld.ca next Summer.

So I’m planning a 2 night stay for 12 for Nov, I see if I book at a hotel which I need 4 rooms, by Sept 12 I get a free quick dinning plan with an option to up grade to a dinning plan, is this true? I am a Fl resident, is their any way to cut a deal on tickets and hotels or is their a pin code I code use? Its my son’s birthday

Elisa – The September 12 date is for Canadian Residents only, it has expired for everyone else, no longer available.

We are fully expecting to see some FL resident discounts for November to be released soon. I would hold off a few days to see when they will be released.
