2013 Disney VISA Winter Savings

Travel dates: January 2 – March 7, 2013

Walt Disney World has released a special discount, currently for Disney VISA cardholders only, where they can save up to 35% off of their room only reservation at select Walt Disney World resorts.

Percentage Savings:

  • Save 35% at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts, Boardwalk Inn, Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Saratoga Springs, Old Key West, Boardwalk Villas, Beach Club Villas, Animal Kingdom Villas and Bay Lake Tower Villas.
  • Save 30% at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort Cabins
  • Save 25% at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort, Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and the Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
  • Save 15% at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort (Family Suite Rooms)

Please note that some resorts have been excluded from the discounts, including All-Star Music, Port Orleans French Quarter and the Contemporary. Also excluded are the Little Mermaid rooms at Art of Animation, 3 bedroom villas and campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort.

This offer must be booked by December 31, 2012. Not all nights or resorts may be available. At this point, it does not appear that any nights have been blacked out, but many nights around the Walt Disney World Marathon and President’s Day Weekend may be difficult to find.

Guests can book either a room only reservation or a package reservation including tickets and dining plans, though only the room portion will be discounted, tickets and dining plan will be at full rate. Availability is limited.

A Disney VISA is required to book this trip. Guests will have to pay the deposit with their Disney VISA at the time of booking. With Disney VISA discounts, information is usually very slow in getting out to the public. We will update this information as soon as we are able to get more specifics.

This offer to become available to the general public on October 10, 2012.

For more information about this or any other Disney World discount, please contact our great sponsor Mouseketrips. Ask for code T64 for the Disney Value resorts and Q85 at Disney Moderate, Deluxe and Deluxe Villa Resorts.

Thanks for the info! I checked today and didn’t see any discounts and then came your post on facebook. I called and saved almost $600 and even upgraded our room!

Hi there! Would you happen to know when they will be releasing annual passholder discounts for January 2013? Will they be the same as the discounts above or will they be higher?

    Thank you!

Kelley – No idea when we will see them. Disney has been very slow with passholder and FL resident deals this year. I would think we will see them sometime in early November, though hopefully sooner.

Typically, AP rates are about 5% better than the general public deals.

Is this deal going to be available for for the public on Oct. 10th, for people who do not have a Disney Visa?

    Hi Keith,
What are your thoughts on the 35% off discount staying put through the summer months? We stayed at BC this past August 19-26 because the Poly was only a 20% discount so we decided on BC which was 30%. Have a poly trip booked for this August 2013… Really hoping the discount at 35% is available to us then! Thanks for any info/input as I know our trip is still a while out!

Hi Keith, have you seen something about the promotion with dining plan and tickets? I’ve seen it in the disney visa pagebut it says that it comes to the general public on October 10th too.
    Thank you!

Tina – This deal will be available to everyone on October 10, 2012, a Disney VISA will no longer be required.

Carrie – It won’t stay all summer, but we do usually see really good discounts for mid-August, we probably won’t see those released for a while though. Keep checking back!

Ileana – Exact same deal. There is only one discount, it is a room only discount. You can add park passes and the dining plan to it, but at full price.

I saw that only the room only discount deal is shown on the Disney site currently. Do you know if the package discount is coming out today as the Disney Rewards site stated that it would be offered to the general public? I have a Disney Visa, but didn’t rush to make reservations in the short 4-day period because I figured I could do it today on Oct 10 after I determined what dates we wanted to go.

Brian – There is no “package” deal, just this deal. You can make it a package by adding tickets and a dining plan (if you wish), but the discount is the same. There will not be any other deals today, no idea if we will see an alternate option for these dates or not.

Brian – Totally my fault, Disney released a second Stay, Play and Dine deal today, a few hours after the first one. All details are not yet available, but I will have them up here on the website and soon as I can.

No worries, Keith. I kept checking back on the Disney site. I was just in a little bit of a panic since I already booked our flights the day before on Southwest (40% off sale!!) under the assumption that the Stay, Play & Dine offer was being released to the public on the 10th, as was stated on the Visa Disney Rewards site end of last week. I guess there was just a lag in getting that particular offer up on their site. I booked 9 nights at Port Orleans FQ and we’re very excited to go. No real expectations, but we’re still keeping our fingers crossed for Free Dining to be offered which would save us about another $350.

Brian – It was strange, this room only offer showed up on the Disney VISA website, but then was taken down. The Play, Stay and Dine offer was never there, but was emailed out to a few Disney VISA cardholders (I didn’t get an email, but some did). So yesterday, we had just assumed this was going to be the only deal, and the Play, Stay and Dine did not show up anywhere until it was posted on the WDW website around noon EST. So strange.

It was strange. Both deals were actually on the Disney Visa Rewards site, but you had to go looking for them. I did not get any email notifications about them from Visa either, but luckily my sister saw talk about the offers and we were able to find it. Each one had a link to the other offer at the bottom of the page. They were then taken off the site at some point, I expect on Monday since the cardmember preview offer was from 10/4 thru 10/7. Then the reservation system was down for parts of the next day or two. Do you know anything about them sometimes offering Free Dining pin #s to Disney Visa cardholders and/or Disney site accounts, and if so is it just random? Do chances increase by ordering vacation planning DVD, etc?

Keith – just saw your post on another thread about the Free Dining pin #s. Never mind, thanks.

Brain – Hmm, I checked the Disney VISA site no less than 10 times, never saw the package discount, ever. I think Disney was hiding it from me 😉

I have a Disney VISA card holder, never received a PIN in my life. Disney has a list of people they target, that list seems to change from time to time, depending on time of year, offer, etc, but once on the list, you seem to get a few PINs a year.

Order a DVD, make sure your profile on their site is correct, plan and save a few trips, it can’t hurt.

Robert – On every page, including this one, there is a box that reads:

“Want to receive instant updates of Disney discounts and news for free in your email inbox? ”

Just put your email address in the box and confirm it, and you will be updated by email everything there is a discount released.
