Love Disney can’t wait to visit again but live in South Africa now and it’s a lot more expensive to get to you over in Florida than it was from the UK. Discounts will really help.

can this be combined w/ the free dining offer?

Pam – Nope, Disney never lets you combine discounts. If there are two or more available for your dates, you should compare all options and figure out which one is best for your family.

Keith, Planning a trip for mid August 2012. If they offer any room only discounts for that time, when will they begin advertising for them? We would like to purchase plane tickets in late January – early Feburary. Thanks for your input!

Marie – Not likely to see August deals until sometime next Spring, probably after you want to look at buying your flights. It is possible we will see summer deals that cover most of August earlier in the year, anything big like free dining that covers the later part of the month is usually not out until early April or late March.

We want to combine a few days of Disney World tickets with the Christmas party. Is there anyplace to get discounts on this?

    Thanks

John – Nope. All special party tickets are sold through Disney, the best rate you can get is just buying them in advance. For park passes, unless you are getting a 5+ day pass, just buy them at the gate, you won’t save money buying them anywhere else.

Jeanne – Disney has been releasing FL resident rates fairly last minute lately. I would expect to see them soon, sometime before December.

I have a question we are looking to go to disney in October of 2012 do they usually have discounts for this time of year and genreally when do they come out.

Jodi – Historically, yes, we usually see discounts for October, and they are usually released in early Summer. However, for 2011, there was only free dining available for limited dates, not all October dates were covered. That is rare though, the first October I can remember without discounts.

    Hi Keith,
We are planning a week long trip in June. We are teachers so we can be flexible. Do they ever offer free dining in the summer? Should we wait to book?
    Thanks so much.

Lisa – We saw free dining is early June, 2011, that was the only time I have ever seen it released for the summer. It is pretty rare to see discounts during the summer at all, let alone something like free dining. If this deal works for you, go ahead and book now. You can apply any future deal to your reservation once released, and if something better comes out for different dates, you can always switch.

    Hi Keith,
We are planning a week long trip in December 2012 & I’m hoping that Disney World offers a free dining plan sometime that month. We have a family of 5 and that would help the budget alot! If they do offer it sometime in December when would we see it made available?

  12. Keith Avatar

Robin – Don’t hold your breath, I have a feeling it is doubtful we will see free dining extended this year past September. We usually don’t see December discounts until late summer, so figure on August or September.

Ugh, I hope that you are having a wrong feeling!!! LOL. Really want to see it the week we are going (Saturday after Thanksgiving). I was hoping the pattern would continue for that week.

Do they ever send pin codes that can be used when they are not offering it? My inlaws get a pincode for a special deal every 4 months or so, while I have only ever had one! they will be coming with us on our trip, so they will be in the same “room” (Art of Animation).

    Keith,

Why such a strong feeling that there won’t be any fall 2012 Free dining plans? Have you heard the tea leaves? I know people who will only be going if it is offered. Do you think they just believe they can fill the rooms without it, or that they aren’t having the impact they had hoped for?
    Great site, btw ; )

Brian e- Pin codes are very weird. Sometimes they seem to just give you an offer that everyone else will be getting shortly, other times they seem to be the only real offer for a time period. Good luck getting one, we never get them : (

Brian – PIN codes are usually used during periods where Disney doesn’t want to introduce a full general public deal, they want some cheaper booking but want to limit it to certain people. We rarely see Free Dining PIN codes, they are usually something else, but you never know.

Barb – Disney has been trying to get away from free dining, at least that is what they keep telling me. For 2011, it was severely limited in the Fall, only a few days here and there. I just expect to to disappear for dates after September at some point, possibly this year, possibly next. Just because they don’t release free dining doesn’t mean there won’t be a discount, I would just expect something else at this point and be pleasantly surprised if it goes past September.

We are traveling October 14-21, 2012, do you think there will be free dining or a room discount offered…and which one would you consider the better deal? If there is a typical room discount during that time do you know how much it might be? Thanks!

Candace – Free dining possibly, more likely a room offer similar to what we saw in the Spring, 30-40% off the room. We really just need to wait a few months to see.
