WDW August – September 2008 room only discounts

Travel Dates: August 3 – September 27, 2008

Walt Disney World has released specially priced room only discounts for the travel dates above, available to the general public. These discount are also available as a Magic Your Way package if you are interested in adding park passes or either of the Disney Dining plans.

Some Sample nightly rates:

  • Value resorts, standard room: $69
  • Value resorts, preferred location room: $81
  • Moderate resorts, standard view room: $109
  • Moderate resorts, king bed room: $125
  • Animal Kingdom Lodge, standard view room: $149
  • Beach Club, standard view room: $249
  • Polynesian, garden view room: $269
  • Saratoga Springs, studio: $179

These prices are the nightly price, and do not include the 12.5% room tax. Weekday and Weekend nights appear to be the same price. Only the nights that fall within the travel dates above will be discounted. You must book this package by July 27, 2008.

    Is anyone else having trouble getting the disount? I already have a reservation, and called this morning and i was told that there were no rooms available and it didn’t matter that i already had a reservation. i’m really confused. any suggestions?

    I have been finding availability extremely limited. I have yet to see a value resort available, and the moderates are nearly gone as well. What dates and resort are you looking for?

    Hi Keith,
    We have a reservation for Pop Century checking in on August 2nd and checking out August 10th. We have 2 rooms, and we have the dining plan and tickets. We having been waiting for a room discount for months and are so disapointed that we can’t use this discount with our reservation. I’ve talked to 2 different people and they said there is no way to do it.

    Since you have a Magic Your Way package, you must check in August 3 or later in order to use the discount. Even if you did a room only reservation for your first night, there still is no availability at any of the value resorts. The only availability I am showing is at Caribbean Beach, and while it may cost you about $100 per room to move, you would get a much nicer resort for only a little money. That is for August 3 – 10 only, you would need to do a room only reservation for August 2.

    Thanks for the advice. We thought about switching hotels, but my kids really wanted to stay with Pop Century. I guess i’ll keep calling and see if there happen to be any cancellations. Thanks again!

    Know wonder they are booking only in the Caribbean resort.
    The main pool is being refurbished.

    Yes, the main pool at Caribbean Beach has been closed most of this year, and will reopen sometime this Fall, though no date has been announced. They have also installed temporary slides at some of the quiet pools throughout the resort. Caribbean Beach is also the largest moderate resort, so there is usually availability there after the other three are booked up.

    I have seen room available at the other moderates during some dates, it just depends on when you want to go.

    Just got in to port Orleans riverside for the discount. Canceled my reservation at Caribbean resort.Just keep trying to book on line in the morning at Disney.com and remember, people will cancel up to five days before they come.That way they get their deposit back. Going aug. 3 thru aug.16.

    Cheryl, Keeping trying to book your vacation on line (room only) at pop century on aug.3. Someone will drop out. When you finally get your reservation on line, call the disney travel center and they will link your conformation numbers together and then you can add disney dining plan to your vacation.

    Please help! I need room only discount for Disney Hotels. We are staying from Sept. 15-18 and I want to add an extra night. They are quoting me a price of over $600!!! Does anyone have the 3 letter discount code for a room only reservation?

    There are discounts available for your dates, but all the value and moderate resorts are sold out. You can either move your dates, stay at a deluxe resort that is discounted or pay full rate. Sorry!

    Thank you for your response!! We are staying in the Beach Club 2 bedroom Villas, that is why $600+ for room only rates is freaking me out!! We already have 3 night paid for with a package, but simply wanted to add an additional night. I have surfed today and found a few codes, but have no idea yet if they will work. Do you have any codes for room only at a deluxe resort? Thanks again!

    I am sorry, I misunderstood. Right now for September, the only discounts available are room only for Annual Passholders or FL residents, or the Magic Your Way package discount.

    How is the room you currently have booked?
